Sewing Seeds Ministry

Our Sewing Seeds Ministry is serving our church family, our community, and several of our mission efforts.

Check out the video below to learn more about the ministry, the impact they are already making, and their upcoming plans!

If you would like to use your sewing skills to serve others, come by the sewing room on Thursdays (9:30 am–3:30 pm). Stop by for a little while or bring a lunch and stay the whole day!

Prayer Quilts

Those in our Sewing Seeds Ministry are making Prayer Quilts to bless Alameda members that are homebound, going through hardships, dealing with illness, or who are struggling and in need of encouragement.

There are 1–2 quilts hanging in the alcove of the lobby with an Alameda member’s name on them. Each quilt will be there for 4–6 weeks so that the congregation has an opportunity to stop by and pray over the named person(s). After praying, tie a knot in the ribbon on the quilt, and the recipient will know that for each knot, someone in their church family prayed for them!

The Prayer Quilts will then be taken to a Bible class, so the class can pray for the recipient, and he or she will also be prayed for by the elders & ministry staff before the Prayer Quilt is delivered.

If you would like to write an encouraging note for the recipients, there are note cards, pens, and baskets available in front of the quilts. Place your notes in the baskets, and all notes will be delivered with each quilt.
